Over the years my work has gone through various transformations, from experimenting with brightly coloured cartoony stuff to doing very pale, muted, more 'realistic' work. At the heart of it all has always been an interest in the way pictures can offer a key to looking at the world in new ways - in general we seem to be very good at walking around in automatic pilot and often don't notice our surroundings as much as we could.
The process of making pictures definitely helps increase my awareness and sense of place in the world. Hopefully this comes across in the work, along with the fact that I just find the whole process of doing it immensely satisfying and fun.
Although I haven't exhibited publicly for a number of years my aim is to start doing so once again in 2024.
P.S. As well as drawing and painting I perform as a one-man band called LC Pumpkin playing fuzz banjo and a sampling machine. (Click here for that)
